Expat Living in Malta
The First Class
No, that's not me. But it could be.
Well, I'm not worried about feeling like I'm in a foreign country anymore; I feel like I'm on another planet.
A few observations on my first CELTA class today:
1. There were twelve students there--well, 13 if you count my pimple.
2. There were only two men.
3. I like my two teachers (male) very much and am already wondering if I could ever match up to them in the least someday.
4. Many students are already experienced English teachers, taking the CELTA to improve their skills.
5. I'm not one of them.
6. We were told that this CELTA course is the equivalent of a one-year course in only one month.
7. That means that at the end of this month, I will have aged a decade.
Folks, that's all I can tell you right now. I did my homework for tonight. I have to make my lunch for tomorrow and I don't want to. I want chocolate so much now--but I can't have it because every woman in the class is thin and beautiful. Every single one. How can that be? The youngest is 18; the oldest is probably me--almost 56. Another woman may be a bit older.
Thanks for listening. Will let you know how it goes in a couple of days. I hope all of you are doing OK.

Hi Lynda,
I've been giving in to the chocolate for right now. I don't get what you mean by folding your arms?--------Ilene

Oh you poor thing, Have a little chocolate and have you not heard. Slim is not fashionable anymore, the wider of beam look is 'in'
Are you aiming to be teachers 'pet' take in an apple for him. I always found that being the best in class for folding my arms helped me immensely.

Congrats. Ilene on getting through the first class! Hope they didn't give you too much homework on the first lesson. Hey a bit of chocolate wont hurt and may ease the homework along!
