Expat Living in Malta
Gone with the Rain
The above is a photo from one of two places in Malta--B'Kara and Qormi--that has seen its share of rain this year. Yes, that's a flood up to the window of a car. And that's from only a few hours of heavy rain.
But that's in the past for now, I hope. This is the start of the dry season in Malta. It shouldn't rain (much) now until November. I love it.
But this isn't paradise, yet, don't worry. I'm still wearing a winter jacket at night and in the day when I'm not in the sun. When it's sunny, it's gorgeous.
It's fun to see the tourists around here now. (I'm not a tourist now; I'm a local. And that's local, not loco --)

Mad; insane
OK, so that's a matter of opinion. As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted by myself, the tourists think Malta is a hot, tropical place, so you see them walking around, shivering, in shorts and tee shirts. Truth is, Malta is a Mediterranean place, not tropical. So the weather can still be quite cool on the shady side of the street this time of year.
Have yourself a nice, dry weekend.

Hi Dee, I guess we're headed for opposite climate territory! Enjoy your good weather.

Glad you're going into the 'dry season' soon and some warmth!...we'll be in the wet and humid one in a month. Can't wait for the dry, dusty winds to stop!

Hi Lynda, guess what happened after I posted this little gem about the sunshine? Yes, it did. That sounds like a real exciting show you went to Lynda :-) Anyway, sell that house in Spain and get over here, would you?

Well now, I KNOW you are "loca" Gaverit, but that's besides the point! ;-)
Congratulations on completing your course and much good luck getting a job there.
Enjoy some warm sunshine for me would ya? We had snow this morning on the first day of spring!!!
By the way... I was in the audience at the Martha Stewart Show taping two days ago - it was a "yarn" show, and all the people in the audience were either knitters or crocheters, and we all had to bring along a project that we had made. The show was a bit disappointing, and I don't think I made it "on air", but it was a fun day out anyway.
So getting back to your dry season - send some of that warmth and mediterranean sun over here soon!
