Back in Malta:
Wind, Dirt, but no Snow
I was getting my hair cut at Pat’s—the best hairdresser in Malta—and maybe the world. I was telling her how I finally escaped from England yesterday (Friday) and was so happy to be back.
Of course, there’s no Internet in my house; the landlord probably didn’t pay the bill again (writing this from a great little place with Internet—the St. Julian’s Hotel).
And it’s very windy. So you can imagine my horror when I saw some white flakes or stuff on the car outside the haircut place. I was so stunned—I asked Pat if that was snow—that followed me to Malta.
No, she said, it’s sand (from the wind).
Thank G-d.
And thanks to all of you who wished me well in getting out of England—except those of you who told me to relax, count my warm blessings and enjoy the snow while I had to.
Now we all have to hope that Mr. S. makes it out of England this Thursday.

That would be BITTERLY not bitteryl!!! LOL

Look at it this way... free facial what with the wind blowing sand around! ;-)
It's been bitteryl cold here in NY this winter. The past 2 weeks have barely gotten over 20F, but this week we are supposed to have a heat wave and get up near 40! How many days 'til spring?!?

Hi there Ilene, Glad to see you made it back to Malta. Starting to think we are mad moving back to the UK from Spain, although worst rain is Spain for years and our house got flooded out while we were away. My new year resolution is to be HAPPY so I am smiling through it all :-)
Think we might visit Malta soon.

No, not to many. The weather here is similiar to Malta. We will be there in June for a month. Maybe we can get together.

Hi Tony--thanks for your welcome back--all the way from North Carolina. Not too many people leave from NC to escape the weather, do they?---Ilene

Welcome home Ilene ! I've been thinking a lot about you stuck up there and crossed all my fingers and toes for your escape ! I guess dust and wind is better than snow and no grit :-) Big hug !
